China Shipbuilding Index continues to rise



        In the first seven months of this year, China's shipbuilding output, existing orders and new orders received all maintained growth.


  According to the statistics of the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, from January to July 2021, my country’s shipbuilding output was 24.18 million dwt, an increase of 20.7% year-on-year, and new orders were 45.22 million dwt, an increase of 223.2% year-on-year.


  As of the end of July, orders from Chinese shipyards amounted to 89.67 million dwt, an increase of 18.6% year-on-year.


   The export volume of shipbuilding was 22.65 million dwt, an increase of 22.4% year-on-year, and the newly-added export shipbuilding orders were 40.31 million dwt, a significant increase of 219.4% year-on-year. As of the end of July, the existing export orders were 79.18 million deadweight tons, an increase of 13.7%.


   Shipbuilding exports accounted for 93.7% of the national total, new export orders accounted for 89.1%, and existing export orders accounted for 88.3%.


  As of the end of July, China’s shipbuilding output, new orders and existing orders accounted for 46.1%, 52% and 46% of the global shipbuilding market, respectively.


   In the first seven months of this year, 15 major ship repair companies in China completed 1,874 ship repairs, a slight increase of 2.7% year-on-year.
