Hong Kong International Airport's cargo volume continues to grow

The Hong Kong International Airport’s cargo volume in November increased by 10.1% from the same period last year to 478,000 tons, and the monthly passenger volume also increased.

The increase in cargo throughput was mainly due to the 16.1% increase in re-export cargo volume, continuing the traditional peak period of air cargo volume.

The Hong Kong Airport Authority said that in November, freight volumes to and from North America, Europe and Southeast Asia increased the most.

At the same time, the airport received 120,000 passengers this month, an increase of 48.1%.

In the first eleven months of this year, the cargo throughput of Hong Kong International Airport was 4.6 million tons, an increase of 12.9% over the same period last year.

On a rolling basis of 12 months, the cargo throughput of Hong Kong International Airport was 5 million tons, an increase of 11.6% over the same period last year.

In September this year, "Air Cargo News" reported that Hong Kong International Airport is expected to open a third runway in 2022.
