The cargo throughput of Guangzhou Port will reach 660 million tons

        China's southern port Guangzhou is planning its three-year development plan to strengthen its position as an international shipping hub.

　　 According to the three-year development plan of Guangzhou Port, by 2023, the cargo throughput of Guangzhou Port will reach 660 million tons and the container throughput will reach 25.5 million teu.

　　Guangzhou Port will speed up the construction of Nansha Port Area, Nansha Port Area Railway, Nansha International Logistics Center, and advance the construction of the fifth phase of Nansha Port Area and the early construction of 200,000-ton-class shipping channels.

　　 In addition, Guangzhou Port will vigorously develop sea-rail combined transport and river-sea combined transport. The port also encourages and supports domestic and international shipping and port industries to conduct business in Guangzhou.

　　 In 2020, the cargo throughput of Guangzhou Port was 636 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%, and the container throughput was 23.51 million teu, a year-on-year increase of 33.4%.
