Wang Yi: Make China-Cambodia friendship stronger than iron and stronger than steel

According to news from Logistics Baba, on September 12, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with reporters after a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Brasokun in Phnom Penh.

Wang Yi pointed out that Deputy Prime Minister Brasokun and I had fruitful talks and reached six consensuses.

The first is to implement high-level consensus and help each other on issues involving each other's core interests. China will fully support Prime Minister Hun Sen to lead the People's Party in smooth governance and help Cambodia maintain the overall situation of development and stability.

The second is to continue to work together to fight the epidemic and work to eliminate the "vaccine gap." Resolutely oppose the politicization of virus traceability, and oppose any country to spread political viruses and undermine global anti-epidemic cooperation.

The third is to build a high-quality "One Belt One Road", promote cooperation in infrastructure, production capacity, 5G and other fields, help Cambodia accelerate the process of industrialization, expand imports of Cambodian high-quality agricultural products, and steadily implement the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone and the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Construction of other large projects.

The fourth is to uphold the people-centered development concept, so that China-Cambodia friendly cooperation will better benefit the two peoples. China will increase assistance to Cambodia’s schools, hospitals, roads, etc., strengthen cultural exchanges between the two sides, and build a solid foundation for the friendship between the two countries.

Fifth, jointly promote East Asia cooperation and China-ASEAN relations to a new level, accelerate the docking of the "New Land-Sea Trade Corridor" with the economic development belt of the Lancang-Mekong River Basin, and support the continuous progress of regional integration.

The sixth is to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, say no to power politics, fight against bullying, jointly maintain regional peace and stability, maintain international fairness and justice, and safeguard the common interests of the vast number of developing countries.

Wang Yi pointed out that China-Cambodia friendship not only brings benefits to the two peoples, but also provides a model for building a new type of international relations and building a community with a shared future for mankind. In our contacts, we never rank seniority based on the size of the country, and insist on equal consultation and mutual respect. No political conditions are attached to cooperation, no "empty checks" are made, and "no lip service is true" is opposed. We all believe that the destiny of mankind is closely related, and the interests of all countries are closely linked. We should treat each other with sincerity and achieve common development and progress. Logistics Baba understands that we are willing to work with the brotherly Cambodian people to advance China-Cambodia cooperation in various fields, make China-Cambodia friendship stronger than iron and stronger than steel, and make greater contributions to the revitalization and development of our respective nations and countries.
