DHL Express will open new routes from the UK to Hong Kong, China and the US

In order to meet the growing needs of the regional market, DHL Express recently added new routes to Hong Kong, China and the United States at the aviation hub of East Midlands Airport in the United Kingdom.

According to data from the East Midlands Airport Authority in the United Kingdom, the demand for cargo from Asia is increasing. Therefore, DHL Express has added a weekly special flight from Hong Kong, China to East Midlands Airport, which is operated by a Boeing 747-8 freighter. With a capacity of 130 tons, it is currently the only special cargo plane that directly flies from China to the UK.

The special plane departs from Hong Kong, China every Friday and arrives at East Midlands Airport on Sunday. The goods are then sorted at the airport and delivered to all parts of the UK on Monday morning. Among them, 95% of the goods are emergency items, covering medical supplies, industrial equipment and consumer e-commerce products.

The newly added U.S. route is the route from Kennedy International Airport and Miami International Airport to East Midland Airport. In the near future, a route from East Midland Airport to Los Angeles Airport will be opened to better meet the growing US market. The urgent freight demand ensures that DHL Express will continue to provide customers with uninterrupted quality services during the critical period of global anti-epidemic.

It is reported that a few days ago, DHL and McKinsey & Company jointly released a white paper on vaccine delivery, aiming to study how to ensure the stability of the vaccine and medical product supply chain during the new crown pneumonia epidemic and other health crises in the future.

In addition, in the early stage of the outbreak, DHL Express had completed the transportation and customs clearance of more than 760 tons of overseas medical and epidemic prevention materials to the country. DHL Global Cargo has added several freight charter flights to and from China to major parts of the world to meet the transportation needs of customers.
