Hong Kong suspends flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong for two weeks



         It is learned that Hong Kong has banned Cathay Pacific’s Cathay Dragon from operating flights in Kuala Lumpur before October 3, after five passengers of the airline flying from Malaysia tested positive for Covid-19.


   These passengers took flight KA734 from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong on September 18.


   The airline stated that the passengers concerned were all transit passengers from India taking the Air India Express flight to Kuala Lumpur. The Covid-19 test they provided was negative.


Cathay Dragon Airways stated that it has also received a notice from the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong that according to Chapter 599H of the Laws of Hong Kong, from September 20 to October 3, Cathay Dragon’s passenger flights from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong will Not allowed to land at Hong Kong International Airport.


   This regional airline originally planned to have 3 flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong every week.


   Cathay Pacific Dragon Airlines said: "We are informing all affected passengers of refunds or other flight arrangements."


   The airline stated that the plane that took off from Kuala Lumpur had also been sent for deep cleaning.
